Highlights include:
- Masterclass and performances by Hollywood recording artist, Dylan Skye Hart
- World renowned hornist, Dr. Annie Bosler, along with Dylan Skye Hart will give presentations on time management and practice habits well as Performance Psychology and career skills
- Philadelphia Orchestra, Principal hornist, Jennifer Montone, will drop in via remote to discuss auditions, injury prevention, and advocacy.
- Competitions for solo (high school and university), mock auditions (no age limit), and horn quartet/choir competitions (high school and open [no age limit ]). Winner of the high school solo category will win $100 plus a $10,000 Performance Scholarship to Interlochen Arts Academy (rules apply). First place in the other categories will receive a $100 cash prize and either a performance opportunity or selected to play in Mr. Hart's masterclass.
- Hornist and NASM- certified personal trainer, Dan Nebel will lead a dynamic group warm-up designed to enhance alignment and playing-readiness.
- Host Anita Miller will offer insights to building a meaningful and rewarding career at any age for those who choose not to pursue a full-time orchestra job.
- Horn maker, Douglas Hall (McCracken Horns) Will be bringing a variety of unique and unusual horns for his talk on Horns and creativity
- Panel discussions on wellness for horn players, composing for the horn
- Presentations on understanding different horn designs as well as the impact different mouthpiece designs have on the horn.
- Opportunity to play in mass horn choir.
- HORN DOCTORS : To ensure all participants have the best possible experience at SRHW 2026, experienced repair professionals will be on site to assist with minor horn-related issues that may arise during the workshop.Friday: David Smalley of Colorado Horn Works and DS Custom Horns will be available to provide expert adjustments and repairs. Saturday: People from Summerhays Music in Orem will be on hand to continue offering instrument support and services both on-site as well as at their Orem location 1.3 miles away.
- And yes... there will be alphorns.
